I want to wish you and an awesome Labor Day weekend. Hope you get the chance to unwind and are able to kick back and enjoy yourself. But before I head out for the long weekend, I want to leave you with a nice short story by James Patterson that was in his novel “Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas.” James artfully highlights where our priorities lie in life, in our personal and professional balancing act.
Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls. The balls are called work, family, health, friends, and integrity. And you’re keeping all of them in the air. But one day you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. The other four balls – family, health, friends, integrity, – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered.”
So the moral of the story is really life is all about balance and priority.
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
