At the beginning of the month, I went to Las Vegas to attend the ISC West 2014 Conference, which is the largest security conference in the United States. I was on a mission to discover the newest, cutting-edge electronic security technologies and bring them back to New England, so I can better serve you to: “Stop Vandals – Stop Thieves – Stop Employee Theft, Dead In Its Tracks!”
While I was out there, checking out the very latest security gadgets, I had the chance to do some sightseeing and eat at a couple of tasty local restaurants.
The Hoover Dam Security Signage
Here’s some pretty cool security signage at the Hoover Dam. Sometimes security doesn’t have to cost a lot, just having some really good and visible security signage will help deter the bad guys.
The Hoover Dam Emergency Call Boxes
Check out this interesting Emergency Call Box Notification System. These Emergency Call Boxes work excellent in areas where mass notification, in case of an emergency, is required. Think apartment complexes, parking garages, mass transit, commercial office buildings. Also, notice the solar panel at the top of the unit; it doesn’t even require 120VAC to the unit, it’s powered by the sun.
The Predator Drone
Look at this really cool Drone that you can fly around you house, it even comes with a camera on top. This is where the future is going… your very own home-based personal defense system. You wouldn’t believe the line at this booth. The exhibitor had at least 30 security dealers waiting in line for information on this drone product!

HONEYWELL SECURITY
Here’s another one of our trusted security partners – HONEYWELL Security. They have best products for commercial and residential security systems. Zappos Tour
I also had time to take myself and some liked-minded security entrepreneurs on a tour to Zappos to see how their “Delivering Happiness” happens and to discover how they “WOW” their clients’ socks off. You’ll be noticing some of the Zappos experiences heading your way ASAP in our “ESG Happiness Delivery System.”
The Best Mexican Food In Las Vegas
I googled “The Best Mexican Food In Las Vegas,” and the Original Lindo Michoacan Mexican Restaurant popped up. With over 135 Google + reviews and 330 + positive Yelp reviews, I knew this place was the real deal. It’s 7 miles off of the Vegas strip, so I had the chance to hit it on the way to the airport. The food was authentic and incredibly good, leaving me wondering why we don’t we have mexican food this awesome in Massachusetts.
The Original Lindo Michoacan Mexican Restaurant was tremendous, but I noticed a security no-no on their camera system. If you look closely at the picture, you’ll notice a large loop in the cable going to the outside of the camera housing. The security installation company left way too much slack on the camera feed. A real bad guy could easily cut the cable or jump up and pull the camera feed out of the housing and rendering the camera useless as he goes about his business wreaking havoc on the property.
Harrahs Money Couple
This picture really cracks me up… the Harrah’s Money Couple. I love this statue of money just freely pouring out of their suitcase. You and I both know that Vegas and the casinos are not in the business of losing money and getting ripped off, nor should you be.
